About us

The Skyline Accelerator Program is a strategic initiative by the Swedish Energy Agency aimed at introducing Swedish companies in the built environment and energy sectors to the U.S. market. The program is designed to support small and medium-sized (SME) Swedish enterprises with innovative products and solutions for building energy optimisation and decarbonisation.

Skyline is led and financed by the Swedish Energy Agency and developed in collaboration with the U.S. based partners the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York (SACCNY) and Build Edison. The program also enjoys the support of the NYCEDC, the official economic development organisation for New York City.

The program matches the demand for low-carbon, energy and cost-efficient solutions for retrofit and new construction buildings in the commercial, institutional, industrial, and/ or multifamily space in New York with Swedish innovations at the forefront of the energy transition. It also supports adjacent cleantech solutions for resource and energy efficiency in urban infrastructure.

Skyline runs from June to December and includes two delegation trips to New York, the first in conjunction with the high-profile event Climate Week NYC. The program provides the companies with market and stakeholder insights, business development and entry strategies, in addition to tools for export and finance. It offers networking and B2B matchmaking opportunities with leading U.S. property owners and key industry stakeholders, and establishes valuable connections to investors, funding and pilot project opportunities in New York.

Swedish Energy Agency

The Swedish Energy Agency’s assignment is to unite sustainability, competitiveness, and security of energy supply for cost-efficient energy systems with minimum impact on health, environment and the climate. We contribute with data, knowledge, and analyses regarding energy use and supply in Sweden. We are also dedicated to maintaining a secure energy supply on a national level.

We support and fund national research on innovative energy technologies, smart grids, vehicles, and fuels of the future. Furthermore, we support business development, commercialisation, and export of cleantech innovations.

Official statistics and support schemes, such as the Electricity Certificate System and the EU Emission Trading System, are some of the agency’s responsibilities. We participate in international collaboration and provide information on efficient energy use to households, industries, and public authorities. The Swedish Energy Agency also holds the overall responsibility for the energy sector due to civil preparedness.
